The Erie Lackawanna is my favorite railroad having worked in engine service between college and going into the Air Force. My grandfather worked as a welder on the Erie, first in Elmira NY and then in Cleveland until he died. I worked out of the same shop, E55th St in Cleveland, that he did.

Erie Railraod History

I received the book "The Erie System, It Organization and Corporate History" from Fred Giacoma. It was published in 1918 with an update in 1935. I am going to to place this online in parts due the size, around 500 pages. It will be an OCR version in PDF format. This will keep the size down but will result in the loss of some words. As an example, this first part is 1.2Meg while the full version is over 15Meg.

Note, I may make the image/text version available on CD.
